In Nov. 1976, Ian was sent by music paper "Sounds" to photograph the Sex Pistols at Notre Dame Assemby Hall in London's Soho, where the band was recording to a live televison audience. Ian was instructed to shoot the audience as well because they were reportedly just as outrageous amd contrvercial as the Pistols.
1977 was an extremely busy year for Ian. It was the year of the Queen's Silver Jubilee and as I recall, as North American, the Pistols version of "God Save the Queen" did not go over very well with the staunch loyalists.
Ian is a highly regarded and well published photographer. His own book, "Flash Bang Wallop" is just that!
